Statement of Faith
The Chicago area Christian Training Consortium is a coalition of Christian community service and educational organizations whose purpose is to strengthen service delivery in work with underserved persons and their communities through equipping and preparing graduate students to work competently with these groups. In the context of a multidisciplinary training consortium, a distinct and defined course of study is provided for interns in professional psychology. This training is predicated on a commitment to develop the intern’s competence as a professional psychologist in service provision to underserved groups from a distinctly Christian perspective.
The Consortium and its sponsor organizations are committed to traditional Christian doctrine and affirm the basic Christian belief that Jesus Christ is both Savior and Lord. The Consortium staff and the Consortium’s sponsor organizations, the board members, staff and volunteers are motivated by the belief that they bring honor to God as they provide service to others.
Applicants for internships and employment at the Consortium’s sponsor organizations who are supportive of this mission and faith statement are considered for available positions without regard to race, national origin, sex, handicap or age. As faith-based organizations operating within the traditional Christian faith, the organizations that sponsor the Consortium are permitted and reserve the right to prefer interns and employees on the basis of religion (Title VII, Sections 702-703, United States Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended).
